| Bishop Priestly was born in Seguin, Texas. At an early age his parents moved to San Antonio, Texas. Upon graduating from high school he joined the United States Air Force and served his country faithfully for over twenty-four years. His assignments included both state side and tours overseas. His military achievements were numerous. Bishop Priestly received the Doctrine of Salvation through the witness of his family in May of 1986 and became a member of The Greater Community Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ (COOLJC). There he received his foundational training in the ministry. |
| In January 1990 after the Lord call his father home to rest, Bishop Priestly moved back to San Antonio to care for his mother. He became a member of Refuge COOLJC, San Antonio, TX.. God gave him a special anointing to reach lost souls and revive those who are already called. Bishop Priestly's ministry goes beyond the four walls of the church building as evident of his involvement in one of many public housing developments in San Antonio. He conducted bible classes and prayer service to the residents. While others were complaining about not having time to work for the Lord, his untiring stamina to provide communion and home church services in hospitals and convalescent homes is commendable. |
| February 1993, he was assigned to Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona. Bishop Priestly immediately joined Bethel Temple Church and served faithfully as the assistant pastor, and adult Sunday school teacher. While being groomed by the Lord, he served as interim pastor in El Paso, Texas.This assignment entitled him to drive four-hours each way to conduct various church services. His dedication to the Lord is unequaled. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1996, he returned to San Antonio and placed his membership at Refuge Church in Seguin, Texas, under the leadership of Bishop J. P. Steadman. While at Refuge, Bishop Priestly was assigned as pastor of the Macedonia Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. After sixteen months of pastoring, the Lord ordered him in another direction. On June 24, 2000 Bishop Priestly married the former Marie Thomas of Boston, Massachusetts. With this union Bishop Royce gained two sons, TSgt. Jermaine Thomas and Evangelist Jason Thomas. Sister Priestly gained one son, Royce Jr. Once married, Bishop and Sister Priestly desired the Lord to get more glory out of their lives. They became a team on the evangelistic field traveling extensively in and out of the state of Texas, such as Massachusetts, and Arizona delivering the word of God. Faithfully working in his ministry, Bishop Priestly heard the voice of God to come off the evangelistic field, and his secular job. He answered another call on his life. That call was to start a work as a full-time pastor. The Rose of Sharon Ministries opened its doors at the home of Bishop and Sister Priestly on October 7, 2001, with Bishop Priestly as Senior. Pastor and Founder. After seven years of worshiping and outgrowing varies locations, the Lord directed Bishop Priestly to move his congregation in May of 2008, to (2030 Bible Street, San Antonio, Texas )(a sanctuary that would accomodate his parishioners and allow for souls to be added, such as should be saved. Bishop Priestly is sought after as a prolific and anointed preacher. Through this great visionary, hundreds of souls have been drawn to Christ, and compelled to accept Him as their Lord and Savior. The Lord has anointed Bishop Priestly to preach and teach His word. Therefore, his ministry extends outside the doors of the Rose of Sharon Ministries. He is committed to reaching lost souls as well as those who are seeking restoration . The Rose of Sharon Ministries is incorporated with The Penecostal Fellowship Churches (PFC) where ++Archbishop Marshal Leo'Nard , of Sylacauga, Alabama , is founder and Chief Apostle. Bishop Priestly's holds several offices in PFC, such as: Executive Board of Bishops, Foreign Jurisdictional Bishop over ; Philippines/India/Pakistan and Haiti., and Board of Directors, Bishop Priestly is a graduate of Guadalupe Baptist Theological Seminary. November, 2003 he was consecrated as Bishop over the Southwestern part of Texas, under the leadership of Apostle Norris Thomas, Austin, Texas. |
